Most modern boilers require different service tasks based on their age and run time which means that, just like a car - You have the standard service where the mechanic takes a look and makes some suggestions, or you have the book based servicing which will vary based on what the manufacturer has suggested.
My standard boiler service is based on the industry recognised service schedule rather than manufacturer instructions.
Manufacturer based servicing will be a blend of the manufacturers instructions and what I have found to be the most beneficial to the model from experience and may include the replacement of common failure components such as:
If you have a decent, relatively moden boiler and you can afford it, always opt for the manufacturer-led service.
If you have an older boiler or one that has not been either regularly maintained or if it has been maintained but just not in a thorough way, then the manufacturer-led style of service may not be the correct solution. This is about preventative care and if there are already small issues with an appliance, this may be esculated through this service regime. As always, if you are unsure, just contact me; or book the regular service and we can always re-assess from there.
If you book a manufacturer led service, I will be in touch prior to the appointment to confirm the make, model, age and exact cost for your appliance.
Important information
Boilers and heating systems must be in working order with no known issues. If you have issues with your heating system or appliance, please go back and book a repair instead. I don't always have the time to do a repair before a service.
